GDV Brussels Office: Wimber succeeds De Mauro
Change in the Brussels office of the German Insurance Association (GDV): Lenka De Mauro, Head of European and International Affairs, will be leaving the Association on 31 December 2024. Her successor will be Florian Wimber, currently Director of Advocacy & Public Affairs at Insurance Ireland.
"Lenka De Mauro is leaving GDV after ten years. She has built up a strong team in Brussels that has successfully represented GDV's interests in important European regulatory initiatives. We would like to thank her for this", said GDV CEO Jörg Asmussen.
Asmussen continued: "With Florian Wimber, an excellent networker and proven Solvency II expert is returning to GDV. He will play a key role in supporting the German insurance industry, particularly in the further development of the Capital Markets Union".
Wimber studied economics in Cologne and Dublin. After working for GDV in Berlin and Brussels and as an advisor to the Cambodian government, he joined Insurance Ireland in 2018.
